The ER/Kinetico water conditioning units are the first and only non-electrical, completely automatic water conditioners. They use twin ion exchange columns, joined by a single module that automatically regulates brining, backwash, rinsing, and shifting from one column to the other when required. The control module measures the volume of water by using a flowmeter that turns as water flows through the system. After a pre-determined volume, depending on water hardness, the unit automatically begins regeneration for one column and shifts service to the tank in reserve.
